Meg Marchand
Meg Marchand, Partner at GBAO, joined the firm in 2011. Meg has a wide range of experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research for Democratic campaigns, issue advocacy organizations, labor unions, and cultural institutions. Meg has been involved in all phases of polling and focus groups, including questionnaire writing, data analysis, creating visualizations, presenting results, focus group moderating, and has organized focus groups in over 20 states. She has polled on paid family and medical leave, health care, and increasing the minimum wage, and she specializes in education issues.
The last 12 years, Meg has worked extensively with the National Education Association and numerous state education associations surveying members, parents, and voters. In 2022, she led research on the midterm election as well as important issues facing educators like educator burnout, assessments and standardized tests, retirement benefits, and "culture war” topics like book bans. She also led research to inform NEA’s magazine redesign, and worked with education associations in Michigan, Ohio, Oregon, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, North Carolina, Washington, Florida, Pennsylvania and California.
Meg also has experience polling for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee the last 6 cycles to elect Democrats across the country. The districts to which Meg was assigned in 2022 were undefeated, and she helped by drafting unique messaging, analyzing voter turnout, and providing strategic guidance tailored to each district.
Meg also works closely with cultural institutions like The Museum of Modern Art and the Washington National Cathedral to develop in-depth visitor research.
Prior to joining GBAO, Meg grew her experience through various research positions and internships, including polling research with Garin-Hart-Yang Research Group, public relations with Missy Farren & Associates in New York City, and with the non-profit National Partnership for Women and Families in Washington, DC.
Meg graduated from James Madison University where she majored in communications and minored in Spanish. She was born and raised in Northern Virginia and currently lives in Arlington, Virginia with her husband and son.
